1 - Open any software that you can print from it. In this tutorial, we are using Safari.
2 - Go to File, choose Print.
3 - A Printing dialog box will open.
If by any chance you don't see a large window like the one above, click on the triangle by the side of the printer name. Make sure you are using the right printer. Here at Hongqiao Campus the default printer is HQ-PrintQ.
4 - On that window, choose from the pulldown menu Safari (right below Orientation), the option Printer Features.
5 - Extra options will appear. Change the Color Mode option from color to Black and White.
6 - On the pull down menu Printer Features (just below Orientation), change to Layout.
7 - Change the option Two-Sided from Off to Long Edge Binding.
8 - Go to the second pull down menu on the window, called Preset and choose Save As
9 - Type the name of the preset that will represent a black and white, double sided print and click ok.
10 - Now you have in your Preset menu the option to print black and white, Double Sided. If you want black and white but not double sided, you have a check box by the side of Copies - Collated, just uncheck it. If you want to print color, just select the preset Standard.
